“Herscovitch is doing a fine job of building up a rabid fanbase” (smother.net) – she has played at notable venues including A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor (American Public Radio), the Bitter End, Towne Crier, Club Passim, WFUV On Your Radar Concert at The Living Room with John Platt, The Sanctuary Concerts, Minstrel Coffeehouse, Connecticut Folk Festival, WUWF Radio Live Concerts (FL), Acoustic Long Island, and the Folk Music Society of Huntington. She has opened for Patty Larkin, John Gorka, Cheryl Wheeler, Cliff Eberhardt, Eliza Gilkyson, Vance Gilbert, Ellis Paul, Aztec Two-Step and Eric Anderson, and has shared the stage with the late jazz great Joe Beck, Sloan Wainwright and Mustard’s Retreat, among many others.

the Person
Lara was raised in New York and lives in Connecticut. She narrowly escaped law school, training instead as a macro social worker. She has worked in the US, Latin America and Asia, on behalf of disadvantaged individuals – focusing on education, community development and juvenile justice. Echoes of this work, including personal and global themes and questions of social justice and equity resonate throughout her music.
